Jane Tharpe's artwork explores the beauty and fragility of being human.  While her drawings and paintings depict sad figures isolated or disconnected from one another, her installations are about whimsy and magic, meant to engage and delight the viewer.


Born in Minnesota, Jane Tharpe studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Art, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Boise State University, and earned a BA in Literature from Barnard College. Tharpe has exhibited throughout the US, and has received several installation grants and awards for her art.  Jane Tharpe lives and works in Boise, ID.
